What we take

Dining tables and sets of two or more chairs from well-recognized brands, in contemporary or transitional styles, generally under 20 years old. Brands we often see include Carl Hansen & Søn, Fritz Hansen, Herman Miller, Knoll, Vitra, Gubi, Cattelan Italia, Calligaris, Connubia, Kristalia, Skovby, Ethnicraft, De La Espada, B&B Italia, Emeco, Kartell, Magis, Muuto, Mobital, Amisco, BoConcept, Room & Board, Scan Designs, Rove Concepts, Article, EQ3 and Restoration Hardware.

These are examples, not a complete list. We accept mid-range to high-end contemporary pieces from hundreds of makers. See every brand we accept, or just send us photos.

Glass, ceramic, marble, stone and wood tops are all fine when the table comes from a well-recognized brand. We don’t take extension tables with missing leaves, single chairs, or counter and bar stools sold on their own, which are very hard to sell.

How we sell sets

We usually list the table and the chairs both together and separately. Offering both gives your set the best chance of selling, because some buyers want the whole room and others need only the table or only the chairs.

Contemporary tables from recognized brands that seat 4 to 10 people sell fastest. We have no size limit, but very large tables are slower to sell, since most dining rooms in Victoria are on the small side.

What we check and fix

Water rings on the tabletop and scratches or dings on the sides can be fixed. Scratches across the tabletop itself can only be improved slightly without refinishing the whole table, so we price them honestly as they are. Lifting veneer can’t be fixed. Chairs are cleaned with the method that suits their upholstery or finish.

How it works

  1. Send photos of the table, the chairs and any damage through our quote form, and we’ll reply with a price range.
  2. Movers pick everything up, usually with about 5 business days’ notice. We pay the pickup cost upfront and deduct it from your payout.
  3. We inspect, clean, repair, photograph and give each piece a multi-point condition score.
  4. We price each piece from its brand, age, original retail price, condition and the current market. Most pieces sell for 30–80% off retail.
  5. You track everything in your consignor portal and get paid on the next 15th or 30th after each piece sells.

On consignment you receive 50% of the net sale for chairs over $500 and 40% under $500. Dining tables pay 30% of the net sale. Over 90% of our pieces sell within 3 months.

Frequently asked questions

Will you pick up my heavy table? Yes. We work closely with several moving companies in town and will arrange good movers to collect your table and chairs.

Why do tables pay a lower split? Tables sell more slowly and earn less per square foot of showroom than other pieces, so we keep a higher percentage of the sale to cover that.

Can I sell just the chairs? Yes, as long as there are at least two.

What if it doesn’t sell? After 5 months, you can pick it up, we can donate it at no cost to you, or we can keep it for sale at an adjusted price.
