What we take

Mid-range to high-end armchairs, recliners and lounge chairs from reputable brands, in contemporary or transitional styles, generally under 20 years old. Brands we often see include Stressless, Herman Miller, Natuzzi, American Leather, IMG, Himolla, Jaymar, Palliser, de Sede, Knoll, Vitra, Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Søn, Artifort, Gubi, Ligne Roset, Room & Board, Rove Concepts, Article, EQ3 and Restoration Hardware.

These are examples, not a complete list. We accept mid-range to high-end contemporary pieces from hundreds of makers. See every brand we accept, or just send us photos.

Iconic designs from well-known brands sell fastest. We don’t take unbranded chairs, budget brands like IKEA, The Brick or Leon’s, or traditional styles.

Recliners and ottomans

Power recliners need a fully working mechanism, motor and controls before we can take them. If a part is broken, contact the manufacturer first: some brands sell replacement parts and can diagnose the problem.

If your chair was designed with an ottoman, as most Stressless chairs are, please include it. These chairs feel best reclined with your feet up.

What we check and fix

Swivel and rocker bases are checked for function and noise. A noisy base usually means friction in the mechanism, so we re-lubricate or replace mechanisms showing wear, unless the chair is clearly listed in “Fair” condition.

Leather care depends on the leather. Aniline leather often improves a lot with conditioner. Pigmented leather needs professional re-colouring to look better and last longer. We may be able to repair minor scratches and wear, but we can’t take leather with splits, tears or scratches across the whole piece.

Every designer piece is checked for authenticity before listing. We do accept high-quality reproductions, but they are always clearly listed as a reproduction, replica or “in the style of”, never as the original.

How it works

  1. Send photos through our quote form and we’ll reply with a price range.
  2. Movers pick it up, usually with about 5 business days’ notice. We pay the pickup cost upfront and deduct it from your payout.
  3. We inspect, clean, service and photograph it, then give it a multi-point condition score.
  4. We price it from its brand, age, original retail price, condition and the current market. Most pieces sell for 30–80% off retail.
  5. You track it in your consignor portal and get paid on the next 15th or 30th after it sells.

On consignment you receive 50% of the net sale for pieces over $500, and 40% under $500. Over 90% of our pieces sell within 3 months.

Prefer to be paid on pickup day? Ask about an upfront purchase.

Do you take replica designer chairs? High-quality reproductions, yes, clearly labelled as reproductions. Authentic pieces are verified before listing.

My power recliner doesn’t work. Can I still sell it? Not until it’s repaired. Check with the manufacturer about parts first.
